Clarity Bell: United Kingdom; I'm the mother of two teenage girls. My eldest experienced some bullying in primary school but my youngest daughter had no significant problems until she started secondary school where in the first two years she was bullied by a callous and manipulative girl who held influence over a large all girl peer group. I took my daughter out of the school but with a lack of adequate understanding and support to help her recover from her ordeal, she was rushed into a new school feeling very low and vulnerable. She was the perfect target for a new bully to come along. Even though my daughter has found strategies to help rebuild her self-esteem, the bullying followed her to sixth form school where finally she has found some more mature friendships which have no room for the drama of cruel and catty behaviours. I have been by both my daughters' sides during their journeys and have gained insight into what is needed in our modern education system to end bullying behaviours.
